I have a .txt file in Korean, but it won't properly display Korean text in Notepad. How do I read this?
When you open it in Microsoft Word, does a dialog come up asking which encoding you would like to open it in? If so, you can choose a different encoding. I believe that is your problem. If you can, choose Korean encoding, or UTF-8 encoding, or similar, and see if that works. You shouldn't have to change the language or anything like that. If that doesn't work, then try opening the file from the Microsoft Word menu (File, Open, and choose a unicode text file, or maybe all files, and then maybe the encoding dialog will pop up). Some versions of word let you see what it looks like when you choose a different encoding. I hope this helps.
