My bf and i have been 2gether 1 1/2 yrs 2nd marriage for both we lived 2gether 9 mths until recently he moved?

out for various reasons.. we've overcome what we needed but now the problem is our moms - his has never liked me or even tried to get to know me (I've only talked 2 her once and she's a big part of y he moved out) and my mom doesn't really care for him either due to some of our problems we had (she knows him well as she moved in with us). Well he's proposed and I said yes. We plan on eloping next month to avoid confrontation with our parents the only people we are telling is his daughters and my oldest son(I know it's 2 b a secret but in fairness to them). My question is would it be wrong to have a reception when we got back - nothing fancy - just to try and combine the two families or would it be best to just avoid
