What counteracts the catalytic converter check engine light?

I have a 97 honda prelude and when i bottomed out the other day it dented my catalytic converter which set off a check engine light. I was wondering if i could just have it straight piped and not have a check engine light. Is there some kind of chip or something i could get to counteract it or make the computer think it has a catalytic converter on it? I don't really want to get another catalytic converter because it does sound a lot better without a converter. Can somebody please help???
