Matrix fans, please explain?

Personally, that's what intrigued me about the movie. The moment of complete awe that we saw when Neo first came out of the Matrix was what made me a full-fledged fan. It was completely unlike anything many had seen before, and the mive contrast between utter catastrophe and normal life (the Matrix) is what was most appealing.
