Did the US have a cultural renaissance after the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s?

After 1967 when all Jim Crow laws were finally gone, it seemed as if television and movies reflected the American people's happiness of freedom and there were a large number of cool movies that reflected the new freedom: Alien series, Conan series, Predator series, Robocop series, Terminator series etc. that lasted to the early 1990s. Also, new weapons for the US military sprung up after the 1960s as well. Do you agree?
